imagine you’re me. just listening to a queer culture podcast because as lib as it gets sometimes it’s uplifting. the guest is a prominent tumblr academic talking about how assimilation hurts the queer cause. talking about how scapegoating is unjustified and it doesn’t work and we’re stronger together. you consider sharing something about this episode, but decide to check in on the guest, whose work you have valued in the past. the first post is about how being detrans is awesome or something. it gets worse from there. block. on the dash, several panicked posts about how we really don’t need to reclaim detrans. think about how just a few months before that particular podcast episode, the same channel aired an episode on the lies of the detrans movement. the podcast host continued to criticize the detrans and anti-trans grifter economy many times throughout the series. this was all within two years of now. hello it’s so dark in here.
