Max looked at the files and smiled. “ Well we have doubled our sales in the first month, I’m impressed.” He then pulled her into a hug and squeezed her before pulling away to look at her. Max didn't usually do things like this but in the close proximity to her, he pulled her into a long passionate kiss slamming her against the filing unit. Max pulled back and stood blinking and trying to catch his breath “ Sorry I…”

Max was exhausted. He hated backing down so had come to work but he had been out in the sun too much and had not been feeding at regular times. He smiled at Natalie as he walked into the office and sat down and rested his head on the desk and groaned before grabbing the phone. “ Can you get me some water Natalie I’m feeling a little ill.”

Business over Breakfast
Max hated the fact he didn't sleep. especially when he had spent most of his adult life saying “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” Fat chance, nowadays the closest he got was closing his eyes and having a long relaxing session to recharge his batteries. It was like meditation for the undead. He got up and fed Gyna before letting her walk back into the bedroom and flop down in the sun. Max meanwhile, headed to the pool and did a few laps. He looked at the kitchen clock when he walked back in and started to get eggs, pancakes, bacon and other breakfast ideas ready for Natalie. His thoughts kept going back to the filing cabinet. he was just smirking to himself when the toast popped and brought him back to his senses.

Max laid beside her and smiled. “ That’s not an answer Miss Mercer. Just try and rest. You don’t have to sleep if you don’t want to. Just chill out here for a bit to charge your batteries. The business is doing really well right now, if you ever wanted to go into business law, I’m pretty sure you could make a really big name for yourself. You are talented. “ He said giving her a small nudge. “ Gatsby’s made a killing on New Year's eve for all the people that didn't go to the party.” He stopped and looked at the ceiling. “I never wanna have to relive that again.” He admitted and rolled on to his front and put his head on the pillow. “ I couldn't control anything I said or did. I mean I would think one thing and another thing would come out my mouth. I would try to go home but end up doing things...” He stopped and looked at her. “ Was I an asshole to you?” He asked.

“ how about a hot chocolate?” Max said and started to make it. “ what was it about?” He asked about the nightmare she had experienced. “ it’s just ok I’m here no one will hurt you now.”

Business meeting- M&N
Natalie,
We need to organise business later, Meet me in reception and then we can go to Edesia for lunch, dress in your best clothing. If you have a suit wear it, This is a business meeting. We will organise all the fine details over lunch and come up with an opening night.
See you at the reception at 12 pm sharp, Any later and I will punish you.

At 11 55am Max walked to reception and waited to see if Natalie was going to show up, he hadn't received any note that she couldn't make it and he had a plan for them both at lunch. He had even got her a gift as a welcome to the team. He waited for her to arrive and smiled to himself. He cared about Natalie. There was something about her that reminded him of the old days back in New York. He also knew under the exterior was a bright, kind girl who was desperate to get out but had been mistreated. That annoyed him. Ever the old-fashioned gentleman, Max found it irritating that people could mistreat, neglect or use others in such a way. He only played games in the classroom and couldn't abide others who played with people’s feelings. He checked his watch and waited to see if she would show.
