Somebody’s Daughter is Book 7 in the Natalie Ward series from Carol Wyer. “Natalie has been promoted to DCI and is supervising a new, high-profile group of detectives. Two teenage girls are found murdered and the team searches for Tommy, their pimp. There are more murders and the pressure from the brass and the press becomes unrelentless. How many more will die before they can stop the killer?” I like that Wyer lets her characters grow and change. She shows the difficulties in balancing family life with trying to catch a killer. The tension in this story is almost unbearable throughout and Wyer keeps piling it on with more bodies. Wyer hides the killer in plain sight, but it’s still a surprise. This is a great crime fiction series from Wyer. A book you should definitely add to your summer reading list.
