This is a police procedural with a DI that's dealing with a personal tragedy. The reader figures out pretty quickly what's going on with Kate, but she doesn't know. Kate and team move from lead to lead. There are lots of clues and you'll probably guess the killer and why (especially if you read a lot of crime fiction) but Wyer makes it an wild journey to get there. One thing to keep in mind about many of the characters in this book - "Everybody lies!" There's a bit of set-up for the next book. Looking forward to seeing where Wyer takes this new character.
