I'm a simple simp. I see Nate in thick black glasses, I add it to my page so I can enjoy it forever.
Nate has that dog in him #coloradoavalanche #stanleycupplayoffs
I could watch him throw pigeons alllllll day
still thinking about the one time I asked the Avs LB tag who would do well in a Muppet movie and someone reblogged it saying Nate would have a torrid affair with Miss Piggy
Screaming 😂
SidNate Summer finally starts and the sidgeno'ers can't let our small crew enjoy it for 2 seconds before reminding us that Nate is just the Summer Fling™.
WE KNOW GUYS. JUST LET US HAVE OUR TWO SECONDS OF ANNUAL BLISS PLZ.
It's like some weird Hades/Persephone sitch and Sid is in the underworld for a bit. We will give him back to the giant Russian when the time comes, we swear 🤞
Flashing back to the Olympics for a sec but (other than the obvious elite hockey talent) it's not lost on me that three of the big names Mack imprinted on like a lost baby duckling (Sid/Nate Mack/Davo) are also guys who have openly been fairly supportive of their teams' pride night initiatives or have been openly chill about LGBT people via their Internet history 🤔🤔

The lake was quiet in that way only Nova Scotia ever managed.
Still water, soft wind through the trees, the distant call of birds somewhere beyond the dock.
It was the kind of place that held onto memories whether you wanted it to or not.
Nate stood on the wooden deck of the lake house, hands in his pockets, trying extremely hard not to look like he was losing his mind.
Which he was failing at.
Inside, you were getting ready.
He’d seen you earlier in the kitchen, hair still damp from a swim, wearing one of his shirts.
You had smiled at him like you always had, like he wasn’t Nathan MacKinnon, NHL player, Stanley Cup champion.
Just Nate.
Your brother’s best friend.
And your whole world.
And somehow, the person he had been in love with since even before he was old enough to know what that meant.
“You’re pacing.” A voice called from behind him.
He turned to look.
Your brother leaned against the door frame, arms folded, watching him with an amused expression.
“I’m not pacing.”
Sid raised an eyebrow, and he stopped walking immediately. “... Okay, maybe a little bit.”
Sid just nodded. “That’s what I thought.”
He ran a hand over his face. “I don’t know what I'm doing.”
“That’s also what I thought.”
“Thanks, that helps a lot.”
Sid smiled softly. “She’s my little sister, and you’ve known her your whole life.”
“I know.”
“And you love her.”
Nate didn’t hesitate. “That’s not the problem.”
Sid looked at him for a long moment.
“Then what is?”
He let out a breath, eyes drifting back towards the lake. “Because it finally feels real. I'm actually about to do this. It's been a long time.”
A moment passed.
Then Sid nodded, like that made perfect sense. “You’ll be alright.”
Nate swallowed.
Inside the lake house, you laughed at something your sister had said, the sound drifting through the open window.
His chest tightened.
Sid pushed off the frame. “She’s been waiting a long time too, you know.”
Then walked inside, leaving him alone on the deck.
When Nate finally called you outside.
You walked out to the deck. “Hey, you’re acting weird,” you said, smiling.
He let out a breath that didn’t quite steady him. “I know.”
That made you let out a little laugh. “You okay?”
He nodded once, then shook his head, then stepped closer to you.
You stopped smiling, just a little.
“Uh, Nate, honey?”
He reached into his pocket, and suddenly every version of his life seemed to fold into this moment.
Backyard hockey, frozen ponds and lakes, car rides after games, late night calls, the way you always knew when he was lying, the way he always came back to you.
He dropped to one knee before he could overthink it anymore.
Your breath caught in your throat, “... Oh my…”
He looked up at you, and for once there was no arena, no pressure, no noise.
Just you.
“I’ve been in love with you since before I even knew what it meant, and I spent most of my life trying to pretend I was going to figure out a way to say this better.”
A shaky laugh left you. “Oh my god, Nate.”
He smiled slightly. ”I still haven’t figured it out.”
A moment passed.
“But I know that I don't want to live a life where you’re not my person.”
He opened the box. “You have always been it for me.”
Your hand covered your mouth as tears filled your eyes.
And for the first time in his life, he didn’t feel pressure, only certainty.
“So,” he whispered, voice breaking just a tiny bit. “Will you marry me?”
You didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”
He exhaled as though he'd just survived the impossible.
You dropped to your knees in front of him, laughing through tears, grabbing his face like you had to make sure he was real.
And when he kissed you, it wasn’t rushed or perfect.
It was just home.
Authors Note: I love the brother best friend trope.

There was one more round of new-to-me Nate Dogg wedding video on my Twitter feed this AM. I didn't see this one on Instagram while making the prev screengrab posts so obviously I'm not one of those great online detectives like so many of my colleagues are. I tried, I swear 😂🥲
