Natedogs is a yummy hotdog stand that was serving at electric fetus for record store day. people were so happy and excited to come together and buy a bunch of records and drink free red bull.

Dog person alert

Among the sea of food trucks you’ll find in Minneapolis, you’ll spot a small cart. Standing behind it will be an outgoing, friendly guy in a tie, smiling and slinging hot dogs and brats. When you see it, usually parked at events or outside a local brewery, walk toward it and don’t turn back. Because Natedogs® doesn’t serve up the standard frank.

When Nate Beck set up shop – er, cart – he embraced the whole handcrafted thing in a big way. He boasts, “Essentially everything is handcrafted.” And it’s true. 

His dogs are made especially for him on a local farm from all-natural, uncured, heritage-breed pork.

The same goes for his brats, made by a local Ukrainian restaurant that happens to be a James Beard Foundation Award winner.

And let’s talk about his condiments. Nate offers two condiments daily, which he makes himself. On any given day, you can load up your dog with his hot relish, Carolina slaw with a vinegar-based sauce, homemade sauerkraut, caramelized onions, or popular honey-spice mustard, which he’s bottled for purchase.

One condiment you won’t find is the “sauce of shame” – ketchup. Nate strongly feels (obviously) that ketchup masks the taste of food, and he makes no apologies for not having it. 

The retro feel of his orange cart speaks to his love of all things vintage. To lend an authentic feel to his brand, Nate has his labels and menu letterpressed at a local studio.
