Surfboards and Stripes
When Philippe Asselin and Jody Miller got into surfing, they quickly realized that (a) the sport is addictive and (b) surfboards are expensive. So they decided to start making their own. Today, the friends are working together to help put Jody’s shop Pathway Surfboards on the surfboard map (particularly in the ocean part of it). Jody shapes and glasses surfboards and paddleboards by hand, while Philippe is the product-testing and development guy (by “testing” he means “surfing the shores of sunny Tampa, Florida”).
Chow Town
Some of the best eateries around Dallas gathered at Fair Park for Taste of Dallas. So, it only seemed fitting that we would make an appearance. The crowds were big, the music was good, and a truckload of American All-Star Sliders were handed out (not to mention potato skins and Oreo Madness).
Spotted: Handcrafted Letters of Love
During our visit to the city of Brotherly Love, we discovered these early-1900s sweet postcards on display in our hotel - a nostalgic reminder of an early form of handcrafting: the written word.

Art That Pops
The man who made pop art popular hailed from Pittsburgh. So it only makes sense that The Andy Warhol Museum popped up there. If you want to know everything there is to know about Warhol and pop art while getting a chance to handcraft your own blotted line drawing and screen-printed shirt, then swing by.
Seeing Triple
If you’re road tripping through “The City of Bridges,” make sure to take in “The Three Sisters” – the trio of almost identical gold-colored bridges that were the first self-anchored suspension bridges built in the USA.
If you’re crossing the bridges by foot, keep a lookout for the “love locks” that have been cropping up near many of the city’s bridges, including one of the Sisters. The trend is big in European cities like Rome, Paris, and Venice: Couples write their names on locks, attach them to a fence, and throw the key in the water below as a symbol of undying love.
Yesterday I was hired to photograph the TGI Fridays Food Truck at the Northside Festival in Brooklyn, NY. tgifridays food truck was there giving away free samples of some new menu items. The crew did a really great job of getting everything out and keeping the line down. I was lucky enough to sample everything and my favorite had to be those potato skins! The food truck is still traveling to 13 locations in the US. HERE is the full list of locations the truck will be stopping at. If it is in your area I recommend you get on line for some great free samples!
Thanks TGI Fridays for the great opportunity and gift pack!
