I honestly can't believe there are only three weeks left at my internship. Today was another fantastic day at NatGeo. We actually got to meet one of the staff photographers today, Mark Thiessen. He talked about his experience with internships and school and all of the work he has done with the magazine. He also told us about his passion about forest fires which was pretty amazing. We all (interns) honestly could have listened to him talk about his experiences forever. He is a part of the Cal State system which is a great thing to hear! All of us had a photoshoot today and it was fun being able to be photographed by a National Geographic staff photographer. We also got to have a meeting with the Association of American Geographers and it was great learning about all of their resources for future jobs and grad schools. I worked on a lot of projects and made sure I finished everything early. David invited all of the staff down to the library for the celebration of Library week with some refreshment and snacks. There were drinks based off of specific books which I thought was pretty clever. Class was fun. We worked on our digital stories and Stef (one of my roommates) and I were jamming to some Above & Beyond. Yuri, Stef, Nareg and Tanekeo and I pleated heads up on the metro. It was too much fun. Tanekeo actually fell down. It was hilarious. There were at least 12 of us altogether straight from class walking together home which was nice. It's been a while since that happened. I face timed with Bubs and went to bed early. It was definitely a great day.
