Nathan Fact #11

Nathan has no idea how to treat the father figure he never had, making him pretty wary around the guy. If his walls are up in general, when it comes to Ares, his walls have just become a fortress. And if he's scared of anyone, it's him – not just because of the fact that Ares can kick his ass to high heaven, no doubt, (Even though that does help) but because he wants to be in his good opinion. Secretly, he does want a good relationship with his father but fears disappointment on either end too much to try and go about starting one.

After all, you can't fuck up something you don't have, right?

Nathan Fact #10

He fakes sensitivity. He might look like he doesn't care. He probably actually doesn't care. But he'll still sound like he cares. In all actuality, he only gives two shits about a few specific people and to those he doesn't really look forward to seeing... well, he's only nice because a) you haven't pissed him off yet and b) it's better to have many acquaintances rather than many enemies. But while he'll honey up some of his words, if he blatantly couldn't give three fucks, he won't bother to hide it. Sometimes, it's just not worth the effort. Those closest to him are just as insensitive because Nathan prefers his friends to be low maintenance.

Nathan Fact #9

Nathan is a little sadistic. Because he doesn't vent on a regular basis when he eventually hits back, he'll be channelling not just the current issue but everything else with it. And at that point, all he wants is to make you hurt as much as he wants you to. All he wants is a brief moment that he can control. He has a huge capacity to be very cruel, with a fond penchant for fingers. Did I say a little? I probably meant a lot.

Nathan Fact #8

When high or drunk, Nathan becomes a little more of everything. A little more open, a little more crazy, a little more temperamental, more laughter, more chaos, and he don't ever regret it. He tries not to do the whole drinking/drug deal when he's in a flux of heavy negative emotion because he knows full well that he will do something he regrets. But what else can a guy do to make himself feel better? He was never very good at listening to advice, especially his own.

Nathan Fact #7

Migraines, migraines everywhere. Nathan gets the splitting headaches when he's stressed. That's why he tries to keep his reactions as lax as he can, trying not to get too worried. But when it happens, it happens and a few head pills or some more... recreative drugs are sometimes the only things that help. Keep in mind, his patients are a lot shorter when he can't think straight.

He gets sea sick. Yeah, that's right. Take it in.

Nathan Fact #5

The value of a smile to Nathan isn't high – he is usually smiling no matter the mood since a smile is easier to hide behind. However, the specific phrases of “I love you” or “You're my friend” aren't things you'll often hear him say with genuine emotion or in correct context. You could say it to him but it would wash right over him if he couldn't reply the same. A smile is simpler, after all.

Nathan Fact #4

Blood will always be thicker than water. He may become a lying, backstabbing, piece of scum but family will forever be family. Nathan has always been a bit stiff around his siblings because he doesn't know how to treat them sometimes because he feels that he has no right to be hypocritical. Being one of the oldest as well as one of the weakest in the family, there are lines that he doesn't dare cross. He does care but he respects them enough not to get tangled up in their business – he expects that if they need help, they'll ask for it. He'll ask a few questions to make sure they're fine to fine's extent and then leave them alone to solve their own problems.
