We spoke for awhile there. It was more than trading crafts, though I adore the gazelle horn he carved quite a bit. We traded thoughts and stories. How easy it was to speak to him about the monster that kept me as a child. Child. I am no child. And he to share how confusing it was to be Ala Mhigan. To feel unsure.
He called me ma’am. I called him Lord. But we were both really saying friend.
