She watched her vision c l e a r, and found herself staring at...dirt. Why was there so much dirt? And... something else...
She raised her head quickly, eyes w i d e, and met those of the stranger beside her. She didn’t know him; nor did she know where or when she was.
Almost involuntarily, her eyes tracked to the end of the street, where the town transitioned into open desert- where was hidden a car that had brought her here. She hadn’t been sure up until now; but this strange place seemed to be in the past, and somehow the strange car had made it so. And well, if that wasn’t enough to give someone a panic attack, she wasn’t sure what was.
She heard a voice; she turned her deer-in-the-headlights expression back on the stranger. Oh, yes, he was speaking to her. Specifically, he was asking her if she was feeling any better.
She... well, she was still in the old west, so- no. She couldn’t very well explain that to him, however, so she swallowed and nodded vigorously, hoping it was convincing. “Um- y-yes, thanks,” she stammered quietly, not meeting his eyes.
