Deergrass (M.rigens) one of California’s most iconic native grasses. This valuable species sustains populations of native deer and is a host plant for native ladybug and butterfly species.

I think golf would be much more interesting if it were played in a forest of native trees or native grasses that have been left to grow (if the long grass bothers you that much just get a longer tee and a shorter club)
Like what skill to hit a ball into a hole with no obstacles on perfectly manicured grass .. show us how you factor in some nice overgrowth and maybe a wild pig or two.
If ur worried about losing the ball just make it flashing lights or something

I talked my husband into not mowing the front lawn for the month of May to see what flowers bloomed. A lot to identify but found Clover, Buttercups, Sweet Vernal Grass, and Bedstraw. Lot’s of little grasses that I can’t id.
I’ve now talked him into letting me continue to monitor a big circle in the front yard (not mowed) so we can get let the clover and buttercups reseed.
I even found one lone red clover plant, which I was pretty excited about.
We will need to mow at some point because unfortunately there are maple tree seedlings and some invasive weeds that we do not want to let grow.
May this week be a light one for you !
