Our California Cahuilla heishi and nugget necklace with turquoise cabochon pendant is very similar to necklaces made at Santo Domingo Pueblo NM. Santo Domingo may have been Margaret Martinez's inspiration as The CA Cahuilla do not work in metal & stone traditionally. Martinez was one of the rare artist known to use some of the old designs and put them into silver, copper or gold and polish her stones by hand. This necklace is the only example of her work we were able to find on the market today. Featuring beautiful American Natural Turquoise that was probably sourced from the southern area of California, Nevada and/or Arizona. It's nearly impossible to say which Mine(s) without some proof from the maker or miner. All the handmade elements of this necklace down to the lovely dangle feathers are charming. Easy to wear, rare California piece offered for your collection. Jewelry appears larger on mannequin. All aspects of the necklace are in excellent condition with NO damage. 2019 Resale value $500 -will consider best offer.
