THIS was a feather-favorite of mine to complete.
Indo-Haitian headdress for super creative director Kiesh Owner+Creator of NoMayo (get up on it!)
There’s a removable Blue Calcite cluster bound to the top, in case the owner would like to use it as a brooch or adornment for casual wear. I am beginning to experiment with different ways of incorporating my love for good vibes, wellness, and creativity all into one project. Blue Calcite crystals are used to focus your efforts to achieve a highly desirable goal. They facilitate physical healing by clearing negative emotions and encourages relaxation. It is a balancing & meditation stone for re-centering after excessive exposure to powerful Yang environments.
The foundation is a headband wrapped into the structure of a 12-gauge wire, coated in hemp. I spray-painted the tips of all-white feathers a beautiful rose gold then cut the tips into triangular peaks. Added a stem of fresh eucalyptus leaves on both sides when I finished final sewing cover-ups/polishing. No measurements, made solely by the eye.
This project took me 15 accumulative hours and LOTS of hot glue gunning. The outcome is very satisfactory, I love having creative freedom but it’s healthy to challenge myself with replicas.
