Common Brown Snake Pseudonaja textilis textilis
A long slender commonly (like the name suggests) snake reaching lengths of 1.8 metres & even larger ones have been spotted. Though they can vary in colour , their complexion normally sticks to a monotone brown .
Extremely alert and fast moving, has allowed them to evolve into the Apex predator of all Eastern Australia.
Found all over Eastern Australia in a diverse range of environment from dry areas to water cause swamps. This indicates the strong vertaliasitc traits of the brown snake. Swan, GW, 2013. Photographic Guide To Snakes and other Reptiles of Australia. 1st ed. Australia: New Hollands .
