"[...] Reunidos para discutir ideias em torno do modernismo e da antropofagia durante uma residência no Vilarejo 21, um grupo de oito artistas trabalhou durante dois meses para produzir as obras expostas em Devorar a antropofagia, na Alfinete. 'Foi um processo de imersão discutindo essas questões de antropofagia, da formação da identidade brasileira, dessas cicatrizes com os povos originários', conta Christus. Com bolsa específica para artistas indígenas, a residência resultou em produção diversa, com linguagens diferentes e um ponto em comum: a serigrafia.

Como havia equipamento disponível para produzir essa técnica de gravação, os artistas aproveitaram para utilizá-las seja em objetos, esculturas, instalações, seja em pinturas e desenhos. 'De certa forma, acho que a residência teve um caráter muito experimental. Os artistas não eram artistas que utilizavam a linguagem da gravura. Teve um processo de exploração de novos usos da serigrafia', avisa Christus."

I'm a survivor of a violent crime, another number in a widely unknown yet devastating statistic, and I'm luckier than most. I carry the sometimes unbearable weight of my suffering, and wrestle with the hopelessness and the sorrow I feel for those who haven't seen a speck of justice.
