Archipiélago ring and necklace by Edna Isabel Acosta

'Archipiélago was selected to participate in the Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid in the Fashion Design category.

Archipelago is a contemporary jewelry collection that brings together unique, handcrafted pieces inspired by organic and natural elements. Edna Isabel defines “Archipelago” as a series of islands united by the real and the imaginary.

The element of color in the artwork is incorporated through polyester membranes created, manipulated, and painted by the artist to resemble natural and plant elements. This membrane is Edna Isabel's unique and personal touch in this series. She also incorporates, in some cases, the use of white patinas to illuminate and accentuate the color in the piece.'
