Nature

Spring rain

I got caught in the first real spring storm of the year and it was fucking invigorating. It’s like the ground opened up and spring just burst out. All of a sudden I could smell fresh earth and grass, flowers, the worms starting to poke out and then window screens and wet bicycle tires and cool water hitting warm concrete.

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, and other than for one year in Vancouver, I’ve always experienced all four seasons, but spring still blows my mind every year. Watching the earth itself crawl up out of the goddamn depressing grave we’ve all been stuck in for the last few months is incredible. I always say I’m going to move south and never have to see another winter again. I just want all year summer sun and to constantly smell like i’m literally cooking under the sun. Then spring happens and the idea of not getting to go through this again becomes incredibly depressing. There’s honestly just nothing like it.
