Cleansing fire this evening. #witch #witchcraft #witchesofinstagram #witch🔮 #spirituality #paganism #naturebasedreligion #idontworshipsatan #sodontask
Do you ever just stare into nature and get so deep into thought it feels like you have just made some scientific discovery? That is basically how I am feeling tonight.
The rain started coming down really hard, (I didn’t even know it was supposed to rain haha), I heard the thunder and stepped out onto my small apartment porch. It is almost spring and it is a very energized time of year anyways but thunderstorms have a way of really riling things up. In fact as I am writing this my cat is doing laps around the apartment and she is talking to me nervously. I don’t think she likes the storms. Anywho, so the rain is coming down in torrents and it is puddling in the streets and the sky looks like a lazer light show with all of the lightning and the thunder is so loud it shakes your bones. I love this feeling. I love how storms like this can really sink into your skin and rattle you to your core.
I stuck out my hands into the pouring rain and just felt each individual drop soak into my skin. The water is cold and refreshing, it splashes off of the pavement onto my feet and the wind picks up and pushes a huge gust of mist towards me. In small moments like that you just can’t help but feel that you are undeniably connected to that force. I went outside to purposefully gaze at the storm, to give my thanks, and it recognized my efforts. I sent up a silent prayer with my hands drenched in rainwater, feeling the drips trickle down my arm and into my sleeves. The thunder clapped loudly and I could feel it vibrating in my chest.
It made me think for just a moment, about how some people their only claim to a higher power not being here is that they are not able to see the being in question. However sight is only one of our senses. We can not see the reverbs from the thunder with our human eyes and yet we do not question it’s existence. I do understand that there are scientific explanations for thunder and that its ocourrance is predictable to some degree, however there are hundreds of books and scrolls and cave drawings from every culture that points to a higher being that I would say counts as tangible evidence towards the existence of a higher power. My point ultimately is to say that we have daily experiences with things that we can not see on a daily basis. Wind blowing in our face, the heat from the sun reaching out to warm our skin, thunder, or any type of sound for that matter, being received by us through vibrations and sensations that our brains accept and process as natural.
When we receive messages or feelings from spirit I think it is easy for us to brush it off as nothing or as coincidence with our circumstances. I think that maybe we don’t perceive spirit as well because most of us are on a different frequency, some could argue that it is a lower spiritual frequency than what spirit exists at. The vibrations that spirit sends us, maybe we are just unable to comprehend them in our current state. To me that is what makes meditation and prayer so magical is that it raises our spiritual frequency it raises our awareness to the things around us that are not easily perceived. We can link up to that wavelength of energy ,if only for a brief moment, and gain some clarity about our short lives that maybe gives us peace or hope or fulfillment.
I know that this was a long rambling statement but I wanted to share this thought with some of you because I know that I can not be the only one who finds clarity in simple acts of nature like this. All I did was walk out onto my porch and I came back into my apartment with a new thought, an expanded mindset. Any thoughts? I would love to hear what you all have to say!
