One of the more incredible composing experiences of my life was this field seminar called "Composing in the Wilderness."

Composer Stephen Lias runs the workshop that takes place in Denali National Park and the Yukon. After Julia arrived we visited a Glacier by Helicopter. And yes, I had to take a quick swim in the ice cold Yukon River.

What a wonderous time exploring and making new friends off the grid.

I had an absolutely incredible trip backpacking the high Sierras with my friend Ted.

Perhaps the most memorable moment was playing shakuhachi beside 1,000 Island Lake. This 25 mile loop won't be the last miles I cover in this area!
