.The Origin of Savith and Clan Glaeden
As an egg, Savith was lost to time. His birth clan was one of the first hundred in the Viridian Labyrinth. This clan had dozens upon dozens of dragons who all sought to live a merry life and to worship the Gladekeeper and her blessings. However, this large clan of devout followers were wiped out after a gruesome battle against the dragons of Plague. Through the Glademother's mercy, Savith's egg was alone ignored and looked upon as a large seed while his siblings and other to be hatchlings were crushed under the talons of the plague-ridden dragons. After the battle, the Gladekeeper shifted the land to cradle the remaining egg into the earth, thus "planting" Savith into the war torn soil ripe with fresh fertilizer.
The egg began to grow as a tree, absorbing Savith's clan members and their knowledge to incubate the young dragon. After centuries of silent growing the tree began emitting rays of green light and swelling until finally it ruptured, leaving nothing behind but a young green mirror dragon covered in sap. Clearing away the sap from his eyes, Savith peered at the land around him. His tree had been growing inside an underground glade, fed by the dense mineral waters that were spilling from the cavernous holes in the ceiling and nurtured by the sun's warm light filtering in through the vines crossing the self same openings in the roof. He stood and began to wander, and soon he found the ancient remnants of his ancestral clan.
Columns with strange inscriptions, crumbling aqueducts, and enormous archways leading to the other sections of the cavern were all that remained of the clan. Exploring even more, Savith found a small clearing with a pillar made of earth in the middle. Stretching his wings, he flew to the top and found a headstone. Written on the stone were his clan's ancient runes which gave off a dull green glow. Memories of these runes flowed into Savith's mind as he began to understand and read them. The stone read "Here lies Clan Glaeden, ravaged by Plague and concealed in earth. One day the lost heir of Glaeden will emerge from the ground and rebuild from the rubble as foretold by the Glademother herself."
