A few pics from today, I enjoyed playing around and editing these...
I spent most of the day in the forest when the weather cleared today, there is nothing better than taking home the smell of the pine, peace of the trees swaying and the birds singing...being whole...
Spindly sculpture of nature
bristled of a spikey design
on the edge of the murky waters
as the quagmire allows now sublime.
Fingers outstretched from the core
reaching up to the air from land
its life blood is gone, fossil of stone
knobby knuckles pull in the hand.
Home of the insects that abound
fortress from hostile attack
for insects and mice
home is the chamber of cracks.
Guardians are the turtles and badgers
they watch transformations of treasure
the world of the swamp portrays a life
of change that is hard to measure.
Anchored roots embrace scraggy bedrock
holding the old castle in place
ensuring its eternal existence
in this native organic space.
Poem titled Castle of the Swamp
By Cindy Leigh Hughes
From my wal today...
“Go deeper, Sink into this blessed water With your achy bones And weary mind, Enter into the depths Of your own soul, Allowing the cleansing
“Are you ever out walking or squatching and think, look where I am right now?
You can’t believe your life allowed you to be here or how?
Just stare at the trees and think oh my god...
How can this be?
That all of this is here, in front of me
Stop and look the trail and listen,
just listen to what the forest is trying to tell you
Walk along the path and just be
There is no work needed here and everything is free
Freedom from those places you call home work or school
The animals don’t know anything about that, they wouldn’t believe it’s real
They complete the circle of life as they should
They don’t want the materialistic things we would
And just imagine life with out those snares, it could be so good
We could leave it all behind and join Bigfoot in the forest
And then our human song could once again be apart of nature’s chorus...”
The best part about my day is when I’m enjoying my morning cup of coffee and planning out where to go each day. Everyday is a new adventure
