i keep losing my oc chatter on twitter because it has no archival system AT ALL and i hate it so oc chatter + fallout au oc chatter below
lane... she started as a monster of the week npc that was meant to guide the players through the storyline. just a dead journalist trying to figure out how that happened. :) when they met her, they had to fight her corpse first. while trying to track her ghost down. the story was going to conclude with her being controlled by a summoner type & the players would have had to fight her and figure out how to help put her to rest (and lose their friend).
in her current rp, she’s dead again, and possessed by a body snatcher alien who takes on all her memories and personality traits (and is, for all intents and purposes, her). there’s a lot going on with that.
but in fallout, keeping with that theme, she’d be a synth replacement that has become aware she is a replacement and is struggling with it. she believes in justice and exposing corruption; so how can she be part of that? i imagine she’d eventually reach out to the railroad.
speaking of, logan would be in the railroad. logan’s theme is that he’s always sort of thrown into the situation with no guidebook and with his only support (lorna) missing.
in fallout au, keeping with Themes, tom (his codename would be phantom, as much as i want to shove his DND name in there, because i can’t resist the joke) would have been a railroad agent killed and replaced with a synth, driving logan to find the railroad and join them after the synth replacement goes murderous.
lorna i’ve been thinking would have joined the BoS. she would absolutely be doing something she believes is to protect logan. and maybe that would work. but her starting arc requires her to have been missing from logan’s life and doing something to protect him, and the institute works so much better for that. she’s been living in terror of logan being replaced, because he’s careless. i’m not sure how she would have caught their attention, probably by taking down a squad of synths on her own because she’s fueled by fear. and then once in the institute, she’d be someone responsible for placing replacement synths. she’d have a role similar to kellog’s, but be more involved with the organization and less of a merc.
and logan... would start chasing who he thinks is her murderer. then tom happens, and he joins the railroad, and gets a real lead. and it would come to a confrontation where he finds out there’s no murderer, she just left him.
:)
