Random Nautical Fact: Well, random nautical superstition, anyway.
Whistling aboard a boat is considered unlucky because you’re “whistling up a wind.” Some tug captains and old-school skippers will toss you off their vessel if you whistle.
Nobody was whistling when I took this; it was just stormy and we were bringing her in for the day.
