Mongolian Throat Singing accompanied by a Morin Khuur. Song was used in the new Stellaris Nomads OST with a more electronic background music to the vocals.
But definitely fits with the Xaela Tribes and I can easily picture them regularly doing throat singing while playing.
-------
Yesuntei is a rather good singer in my head canon though not formally trained outside of her tribe. Makes me think she uses her more natural higher voice at times when singing but can easily switch to a lower tone than one would expect due to using her throat, as well as sometimes just doing traditional throat singing while she plays her Morin Khuur.
So she has a fairly good range, though despite her talent at singing she is a bit shy with it. Like in her tribe she was confident in doing traditional music and song for gatherings. However since being exiled she is a bit more self-conscious, and even with her singing since she's seen how different music and singing in other parts of the world are. She's fascinated by it and has picked up some new skills by emulating other singers she's seen, but she doesn't have the same confidence with those skills as she does with the ones she learned with her tribe. And given how different song is elsewhere she's not confident to really show others her traditional singing since she doesn't know how it'd be received.(No doubt it would be enjoyed but the brain isn't always rational.) Leads to situations of people hearing someone singing in the free company, enjoying the voice but never finding the person singing it because Yesuntei will either just vanish or will have stopped singing by the time someone shows up and pretend she doesn't know about any singing.
Though at some point someone will probably catch her in the act and leave her flustered.
stop and think of me.
