Movie Night | Bamblet

Violet had done everything possible to make sure her brothers and her parents were out of the house for the weekend. She knew that if she told them that she would have a guy over that they’d be annoying, and this way she could have the house to herself. It would just allow them to have a nice time without it being interrupted by her mom checking in, or by her brothers teasing or harassing Bambi. She was very sure he wasn’t ready to meet the family.

She wasn’t even quite sure how well this would go. She still felt awkward about the texts she had sent Bambi, and was going out of her way to try to make this date extra nice. She had set up the tv so it would have netflix on and ready to go for whatever they might watch. She had grabbed some sodas, and a pitcher of water in case he would rather have that, and set it down on the coffee table.

Violet had texted Bambi to tell him to come over around six, starting up some popcorn when it got closer to the time and chewing her lip, going to brush her hair one more time before Bambi came, more and more nervous as time got closer to six.

A walk through town | Violet & Bambi

Violet had taken Bambi’s hand again, and at this point at least, she was fairly comfortable with that. His hand was warm, and she couldn’t help but want to extend the time a little. It wouldn’t be for much longer, she knew that, but there was no need for her to rush home. Her family was fairly relaxed about events like this, especially since Violet went home at normal hours on regular days. They really couldn’t complain if she spent one night of the year out later than she usually did.

She glanced up at Bambi, a smile spreading across her face. For once, she had a good feeling about where things were, and she was more relaxed with someone that wasn’t family than she had ever been. “Thanks for walking with me. I know it’s a bit out of your way.” She finally broke the silence, guiding the way slowly toward her house. “So...what do you think about your first tree lighting?” She added, needing to say something or she would close off again without realizing it.
