Twice’s Nayeon / Holiday Prompts
3. “I was going to propose to you but I dropped the ring in the snow before you turned around, and now I can’t find it.”
Admin Kiwi
A/N: Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! I took this morning off to spend time with my family and read a whole book for fun (as a college student I don’t get to do that anymore) so I’m feeling happy and energized. I hope you all had a wonderful day and that you all enjoy!
Nayeon wasn’t usually someone who planned ahead, but for this, she needed everything to be perfect. She’d even had her friends help her make the plan in order to assure herself that nothing would go wrong. And so far, the night had truly been perfect. The two of you had gone to an early dinner at one of the nice restaurants in town before heading out to see a play at the theater. After the play, she had suggested the two of you take a walk through the holiday light displays in the park.
But that was when it all went downhill.
When you’d turned your back to her, looking out at one of the displays, she’d pulled the ring box from her pocket. Only somehow, she’d managed to jostle the ring, because as soon as she opened the box, the ring came tumbling out and disappeared into the snow. She let out a strangled squeak of horror as her eyes searched the snow, frantically searching for the small ring.
“Are you okay? What was that?” You looked back at her, eyes wide with concern, and she quickly smiled and slid the box into her coat pocket, hoping that her eyes weren’t shaking too much.
“Oh, I just almost slipped, it’s fine!”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive!”
You didn’t look very convinced, but you turned away and Nayeon quickly looked back at the snowbank she’d seen the ring fall into. How far would it have fallen? As sneakily as she possibly could, she pulled out her cellphone and turned on the flashlight. Unfortunately for her, it was dark outside, and you turned around at the light.
“Did you lose something?” You had your eyebrows raised, now suspicious, and she sighed. There was no use trying to cover it up.
“Well.... Okay, you can’t make fun of me or make a big deal out of this when I tell you!”
“Okay?” You blinked at her, confused.
“So basically I planned tonight to be so special because I wanted to propose to you but then when I pulled the ring box out, I must have bumped it against something because the ring just fell out and disappeared into the snow and now I can’t find it.” She bit her lip as she finished, waiting for your reaction. An array of emotion crossed your face, ranging from confusion to surprise and then to amusement.
“Wait, you were going to propose?”
“Yes! And it was supposed to be a surprise but now I ruined it.” She pouted, her shoulders slumping in defeat, and you quickly put your hands on her shoulders.
“Please don’t get upset, it’s okay. Look, at least this is a funny story we can tell at our wedding!”
She sniffed. Blinked. Looked up at you with wide eyes. “Um. Does that mean you’re saying yes?”
Smiling, you nodded. “Of course I’m saying yes. Why wouldn’t I want to marry you? I love you!”
“Oh. Good.” She smiled back. “That’s good, at least. And I love you too.”
“Can I kiss you?”
She nodded and you leaned in, giving her a soft, quick kiss. When you pulled away, she affectionately caressed your cheek. “Sorry I couldn’t make it perfect.”
“I liked it better this way anyway. Any ring is better with a story.”
“Oh right, the ring.” She let out a groan, and the moment shattered. “We should probably find it. I spent a lot of money on that thing.”
“Right.” You reached into your pockets to pull out your gloves, and she watched with a grin as you flexed your fingers. “Where should we start?”
“I love you, you know that?” She bent down and pointed her flashlight at a bank of snow, and you laughed as you knelt down beside her. People outside the park or passing by probably thought the two of you were crazy, but Nayeon found she didn’t care. Even if it hadn’t been perfect, she was happy. You’d said yes, and that was all that mattered.

2. Person A and Person B go to a haunted house. Person B gets so scared they cry. Person A must comfort them.
Admin Kiwi
Nayeon did not get easily scared. Sure, she could be a little jumpy at times, but she was always able to laugh it off after the moment. So she was not expecting to be the one leaving the haunted house with tears streaming down her face.
“That last scare was too much!” She sniffed and wiped at her face as you patted her on the shoulder, looking a little panicked. “Did they really have to jump out of the ceiling too?”
“I guess the scare is the point of the haunted house,” you said awkwardly, rubbing her arm comfortingly and leading her away from the doors. People were giving the two of you weird looks, but she was too annoyed and scared to care.
“Still! It was too much! The rest of the house was great but that last scare was evil.” She stomped her foot on the pavement, making you laugh. “It’s not funny, babe.”
“It’s a little funny.” You moved to stand in front of her, grabbing her shoulders, raising your eyebrows, and smiling. “The mighty Nayeon who tried to fight a ghost is crying from a haunted house.”
“I was drunk, there was nothing there to fight,” she whined, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips, and her tears seemed to be calming down. “You’re mean, aren’t you supposed to be comforting me?”
“I was trying to make you laugh.”
Pouting, she crossed her arms. “Well, you aren’t doing a good job.”
“I’m sorry.” Without warning, you pulled her into a hug, making her squeak in surprise. “Oh, my darling Nayeon! I’ll protect you from the ceiling clowns! Don’t worry, for I am here!”
“You’re ridiculous!” She tried to keep a straight face, but couldn’t, bursting out into laughter. “What was that?”
“Cheering you up.” You pulled away with a grin and ruffled her hair. “Feel better?”
She did one last wipe at her eyes, thinking for a moment before matching your grin with one of her own. “I’ll feel better if you buy me another funnel cake.”
“You’re going to get sick!”
“Then I don’t feel better. Oh, I feel more tears coming on!” She dramatically sniffled and fluttered her eyelashes, letting out a fake sob. Rolling your eyes, you took her hand in yours and sighed. Still, you couldn’t hide your smile. She was so cute like this, pouty and still a little scared. Maybe you should take her to haunted houses more often.
“Fine, I’ll buy you a funnel cake.”
Her expression changed immediately, her face breaking out into a wide smile as she tugged you down the sidewalk, all traces of tears gone. “Awesome, let’s get going!”

6. Person A laughs at Person B while behind them in line at Starbucks when B orders a Pumpkin Spice Latte. A debate ensues.
Admin Kiwi
A/N: Thanks for the kind words! 💕
All Nayeon had wanted to do was order a Pumpkin Spice Latte as a treat for herself for finishing her errands. Already, she was agitated. The day had been a long, boring one, and the line at Starbucks was longer than usual. So when she finally got to the counter and ordered her drink, only to hear you laugh behind her, she was very ready to fight.
“Excuse me?” She raised her eyebrows, putting on her most bitchy look and a sneer as she turned around, arms crossed. Now in front of her, you put on an innocent look.
“What?”
“I know you just laughed at my choice of drink.”
For a moment, you tried to keep the innocent face on, before it fell away, a smile replacing it as you rolled your eyes. “I’m sorry, I just laughed because it’s such a typical fall drink. Plus, it’s not even good. Girls just get it for the hype.”
“Excuse me?” Her voice raised a bit as she put her hand to her chest, offended. The barista swallowed nervously, glancing at her coworkers. “You’re very wrong. Pumpkin Spice is incredible.”
“Says who?”
“Says me and probably everyone else in this line!” At her words, the woman behind you shifted and put in her earbuds, obviously not wanting to get involved. “Why else would they bring it back every year?”
“It’s just the hype. It hardly tastes like pumpkin to begin with.”
“It’s literally pumpkin pie in a latte.”
“That’s offensive to pumpkin pie!”
The barista cleared her throat nervously. “Um, ma’am?”
Huffing, Nayeon ignored her, flipping her hair over her shoulder and cocking her eyebrow. “Have you ever even tasted the latte?”
Just as determined, you nodded smugly, ignoring the grumbling in the line behind you. “I have, and I don’t understand the hype. It’s like candy corn, gross but for some reason people buy it during the fall.”
“Candy corn?” She gasped, offended again. “Did you just compare the one and only Pumpkin Spice Latte, the best thing to happen to fall, to candy corn?”
“I did.”
“Oh it is on.”
“Ma’am!” The barista shouted this time, making both of you jump and turn towards her. She straightened her apron, looking all too tired of this. “There are other customers in line. If you could please pay for your drink and wait for it to be finished.”
“Right, I’m sorry.” She pulled out her wallet and gave you a pointed look. “This isn’t over.”
Grinning, you met her gaze head-on. “I wasn’t expecting it to be, you-.”
“I’m Nayeon.” She finished paying and flipped her hair once again, chin held high. “And I will convince you of the greatness of Pumpkin Spice Latte.”
“I’m (Y/N),” you said with a laugh. She kind of liked it, but she wasn’t about to admit that. “And I accept this challenge. I’ll meet you at the counter.”
Well, her day had just gotten much more interesting. But she wasn’t going to complain. “Deal.”
