22 hours of Listen Up, New York!
So this is going to be my ass-long story on my FABULOUS Darren Criss experience! excuse my lag of grammar or read more... it's 3:30am and I just got back!
My friend and I arrived at the Roseland Ballroom at around 5:20am this morning... there was already a crowd of like 18is people and one homeless dude... we started forming the line around said homless dude, he didn't care. By 8am they moved us INTO THE STREET! Literally! we were moved into the street and at first they didn't give us barricades and cars could've run into us... but we managed at some point. That's when the waiting began. People kept checking the weather report because it was supposed to rain but it actually got scorchingly hot... at some point they started selling merch and Liam came out to film us fans (AWKWARD ad hell... don't ask me questions like what my fav Darren song is and what I would tell him if I could... those are TOO HARD, Liam honey!). Pretty common.
At 4pm-is the line went full circle once around the block... jesus lord... that is when they made us get up, move up close and completely caged us into the barricades... we weren't even alowed any more bathroom breaks... da fuck?! oO it didn't even do any good because every time they tried to move the line it would just keep growing anyway and at the end it went almost twice around the block O.O
We're let in at 6:30pm and they did it nicely since they always only send a batch of people in at a time.... with our GA tickets we actually ended up kinda in the 6th row, center and it was PERFECT! things moved a bit during Charlene's set... things moved some more during Theo's set and in the end we ended up 4th row with our GA tix... AWESOME!
Darren's parents, chuck and Mia were hanging out in the balcondy to our right and they were all adorable <3 I may or may not have DIED when Darren came out during Charlene's set to sing with her... I HAVE A FULL LENGTH 8+ minutes video of te whole thing wich I will post soon!
The concert was absolutely FANTASTIC! like I had seen Darren before several times but NOTHING compares to him singint to a full band... He has turned into a rock star! He messed up a couple of time but that made the expereince even more fabulous!
We ran out pretty fast afterward to get to the stage door... we didn't really think he would come out but since we flew in from Germany we at least wanted to try... everything there was kinda disorganized but we scored some front row places across the way from where most people were waiting...
After a couple of hours Theo came out and he spent A LOT of time over at the other side and when he came to us he was like telling us how he didn't have time since he had to clean out the venue and he was so sorry and so genuine and in the end he STILL signed stuff for everyone (there was only like 20 peeps on our side) and then when he hugs my friend, he smacks his sharpie in my face... I still have the stain on my nose... it won't come off XD It feels like Theo tattooed my nose lol
Mia came in and out and people came and left and we waited and FINALLY at like 1:20am Darren finally came out!
He walked over to the other side and told them something... then he turned around and walked up to us and we figured he was just gonna apologize for not being able to sign stuff... but he actually told us that he wants to meet all of us and he wanted to let us know that he is gonna start with the other side, which would probably take him an hour to get through and then get to us... so lovely!
When he finished on the other side, it was finally out time and he came back and told us to please not take advantage of the fact that is is hard for him to say no to us and that he would much rather talk to each and every one of us for a bit then waste time with pics and hugs and OMG he was adorable!
He came up to my friend and I and was like "Hi, I'm Darren, what's your name" and squeezed our arms... we answered him and he asked us where we're from, so we told him we flew in from Germany and all of a sudden he yells "DAS IST GEIL!" (Which kinda means "THAT'S SO AWESOME" in German and we about DIED! We talked a bit more about where exactly we're from and he complemented us on our shirts and wished me good luck with my move to London... he was just absolutely down to earth and generous!
I have now officially been awake for 24hours and am about to die... so I will sleep and then grace you with my pics (and hopefully vids), depending on the hotel's internet, tomorrow :D
