A rambling NB Pidge rant

I know I'm overdoing the Pidge as genderqueer thing but honestly this child is so pure and sometimes you hurt so badly for recognition you take what you get and ignore the pronouns because there are people who are less fussed about them and

I was ready to throw the fuck DOWN when I recognized what the mice told Allura and saw what she was doing because I've lived that and I'm just so glad that the show usually sidestepped language so I could read it how I wanted to despite the occasional reference (family is always hard, and my immediate family call me my middle name, but mom's the only one making attempts to avoid gendered language even if I'm not there. I get it.) and I have to keep repeating for myself and others that there are non-binary people that are okay with masc/femme language describing them and that is okay and valid and entirely their choice to do that.

But I have to tell myself to chill, remind myself that most people see a tomboy and wanna dress her up pretty, and shippers gonna ship.

And despite my continual use of "small" and "child" and "smol" I'm not some sparkly eyed fangirl going /////u/////w//////u//// about some effeminate trans man as I've seen thrown around recently. I was prepared to fight to defend Pidge because children need to see that we exist and we're not just dolls to play dress up with when you find out what's in our pants. Even if Pidge is "just" a tomboy, I'm in love with the fact that Pidge is just one of the guys, even after Allura joins them. Like, good.

Also, platonic Punk is the best friend pair I'll always be there for because science nerds speak their own language and it's great.
