There’s a reason that Summer League doesn’t get a lot of blog or columnar coverage. In a lot of ways it’s just reaffirming what we already knew–or thought we knew. But from time to time we’ll get a Reggie Williams who looked spectacular, but just couldn’t quite make the leap to the big time, or a Jimmy Butler who took a leap from underlooked low draft pick to Summer League superstar to electrifying role player on an NBA contender in just one year. We’ve outlined some of the guys to look forward to this season based on some interesting predecessors. This summer may have tuned us into some of the breakouts–and busts–that 2014 has to offer.
