Around the age of 7 (or something like that)

For some reason something in my head told me he came from Hokkaido so i used The Ainu people clothing as isnpo for his.

Stories and legends of the Ainu frequently feature dogs as brave, magical defenders of humanity that assist hunters in tracking large animals like bears, and even aid fishermen during the salmon run.

They also developed their own hardy hunting dog breed (the Hokkaido dog or Ainu-ken) known for their bravery in harsh, snowy climates.
