A/N: Another short drabble. Sick!Adam.
Adam groaned quietly and buried his face into his sleeves, slamming the alarm clock angrily, feeling annoyed. He wanted desperately to cover himself with the covers and lock himself from the world, but he didn’t, tumbling away from his warm bed reluctantly. He let out a small moan and rubbed his forehead, stumbling to the bathroom.
God he felt like shit.
He sniffled, reaching tiredly to grab a wad of toilet paper when he found he couldn’t breathe through his nose. Adam blew his nose and scowled when it did nothing to clear his airway.
He sighed and reached up to rummage through his medicine cabinet weakly, all of his energy already gone. He didn’t know how the fuck he would get through the entire five hours of the show if he wanted to die after being up for a few minutes.
Adam was broken out of his thoughts when a strong bout of nausea hit him and he fell to his knees, throwing up everything he ate in the last 24 hours. He whimpered softly and clenched his eyes shut, breathing heavily and dry heaving a couple times.
He whimpered again, feeling tears prickle his eyes and he collapsed on the ground, curling up into himself when he was certain that he was done hugging the toilet. He groaned, wrapping his arms around his stomach feebly when another wave of pain cursed through his body. He felt himself trembling all over, sweat glistening on his forehead.
Adam gritted his teeth and tried to ignore the pain, a quivering hand reaching out to push the floor in an attempt to sit up, but he immediately collapsed onto the hard tile floor, letting out a small cry of pain.
Adam started to curl in closer to himself, his arms wrapped around his chest protectively when he heard his front door opening.
“Adam? Are ya in here?”
Adam almost burst into tears of relief when he heard Blake’s voice and he let out a weak noise, hoping that it was loud enough for the big lug to hear him. Sure enough, he heard Blake’s lumbering footsteps hurrying towards him and he could imagine the worried expression that the giant must’ve been wearing.
The bathroom door slammed open and Blake gasped quietly, rushing over to kneel next to him and slap his cheeks gently.
“Adam, you idiot. Were you not taking care of yerself again?” He paused; panic entering his blue eyes when Adam didn’t respond. “Please open your eyes for me sweetie, or I’m going to have to call an ambulance and we both know how much you hate hospitals.”
Asshole.
He forced himself to open his eyes and gritted his teeth, “No hospital.”
Blake hesitated, but nodded worriedly, gingerly helped Adam get up in a sitting position, wincing when the younger man gave a small shout of pain when he jostled him. “Sorry. Just hang in there, ok? I promise I’ll be as gentle as possible.”
Adam nodded and laid his head weakly on top of Blake’s shoulder, wrapping his arms around the bigger man’s shoulders as the other slowly carried him to his bed. He glanced at the older man, mumbling.
“Shouldn’t we be recording the show right now or something?”
Blake paused, staring at Adam incredulously. “Are ya serious? You’re sick as a dog right now and I’m not letting you go anywhere. And I’m staying right here to take care of ya. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I left you all on your lonesome here?”
Adam rolled his eyes at the worried man, but he sighed contently when the other dropped him onto his bed, encompassing him with many blankets. He grabbed a pillow and buried his face into it, pouting slightly when he realized that the other man wasn’t getting into the bed with him.
“Where are you going? Stay with me.”
Blake chuckled indearly at the whining tone that the younger man adopted and he gave into his demands, sliding into the bed and wrapping his arms around Adam’s lithe waist, kissing his forehead gently, frowning when he realized how hot it felt.
He reached a hand up and intertwined it with Adam’s. “You’re burning up. I should get you some medicine.”
Adam shook his head tiredly, not caring how petulant he must’ve sounded as he tightened his grip on Blake’s hand. “Later. Cuddles now.”
Blake chortled softly again, his broad arms wrapped around Adam’s body and the younger man couldn’t help but feel so protected and loved in the warm embrace as he slowly drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
He really was lucky to have a person as wonderful as Blake in his life.
