I've done just about everything there is to do at NBC News -- anchored programs, investigative reporting, political coverage, murder trials and natural disasters. I flew through the night on the G.E. jet with Tom Brokaw to cover the 1989 San Francisco earthquake, hunkered into the winds of half a dozen hurricanes, twirled in a tiny boat after Hurricane Floyd caused record flooding on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina in 1999. We floated past the tip of a crimson tree poking above the swollen river, teeming with red ants trying to stay alive. The current carried thousands of dead hogs passed us, washed from their pens. As we neared the Atlantic Ocean, the water turned red with their blood. Hundreds of sharks lined the mouth of the river dining.#americanstory#makeitmemorable#nbcnewspics
