FMGE December 2025: NBEMS Opens Application Process Today

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the start of the application process for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) – December 2025 session. The examination is scheduled to be held on January 17, 2026, and will be conducted through a computer-based platform at multiple test centers across India.

Application Timeline and Information Bulletin

Candidates can access the information bulletin from November 14, 2025, 3:00 PM onwards, which contains details about eligibility criteria, examination scheme, syllabus, and fee structure.

The online application window for FMGE December 2025 will also open on November 14, 2025, and will remain active until December 4, 2025 (11:55 PM). Interested candidates are advised to carefully read the bulletin and ensure all eligibility requirements are met before submitting their application.

Exam Significance and Results

The FMGE is a mandatory qualifying examination for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who have obtained their primary medical qualification from institutions outside India. Only candidates who successfully clear this examination are eligible to register with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or respective state medical councils to practice medicine in India.

The results for FMGE December 2025 are expected to be announced by February 17, 2026.

Previous Session Overview

The FMGE June 2025 session was conducted on July 26, 2025, with results released on August 21, 2025. Scorecards from this session are available for download for six months from the date of issuance. Some results were withheld due to pending clarifications from the NMC or the Exam Ethics Committee.

NYS RACES (radio amateur civil emergency service) had a member share this and I’ve been working thru the nets.

NBEMS (narrow band emergency messaging software) is using our widely available equipment (PC’s) to leverage software such as FLDIGI do manage communication in times of need.

Most PC’s have great sound cards and clocks and can encode decode (with software) data for transmission over radio. Back when I was a new ham in the 90’s this was pretty cutting edge and many of us had dedicated TNC (terminal node controllers) which were expensive and somewhat dedicated to particular modes. Clever people saw the potential of the sound cards to emulate the hardware and fast forwarding we have the means of passing traffic with fewer errors and better throughput speeds.

I’m all for CW but if you’re in ARES or RACES or some emergency comms group for your town/county/state it has to be about the message not the mode. I think we need to keep proficiency in voice and code traffic handling, different situations call for different approaches but, machine to machine will be faster and more reliable if we can maintain such a contact.

Check out some of these nets. Even if you can’t send you’ll decode if the PC can hear the radio. Olivia 8-500 and Thor22 are common modes. If you put the Rxid on it should change modes with the sender for you. When/if you get captivated by “sound card”modes there are kit and prebuilt interfacing devices like SignaLink or Eazy Digi for example. Our hobby can be expensive but adding to your station especially when you’ve got the time to build from kits is an investment in yourself as much as your gear. These modes still are peanuts compared to the TNC options such as PACTOR or the AEA TIMEWAVE PK232 PAKRATT.

If you search NBEMS ARRL there’s some nice posted PowerPoints to flip through to point you towards add on software (all free to download for various platforms) I run Linux and it was a little harder than Windows to set up I managed.

NEET PG 2024: Over 2 Lakh Candidates Participate in Two-Shift Exam Across India

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduation (NEET PG) 2024, organized by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), was successfully held on Sunday, August 11. This significant examination saw a total of 2,16,136 candidates appearing across two shifts from 416 centers situated in 170 cities spread across 31 states in India.

Shift-wise Attendance and Technical Delays

In the first shift, out of the 1,14,276 registered candidates, 1,07,959 appeared for the exam, with 6,317 candidates remaining absent. NBEMS reported that due to technical issues, two examination centers experienced delays, with one center delayed by a maximum of one hour and 45 minutes, while three other centers had delays under 30 minutes.

The second shift saw 1,08,177 candidates attending out of the 1,14,264 registered, with 6,087 candidates absent. One examination venue encountered a technical delay of 55 minutes, and four other centers faced delays of less than 30 minutes.

Enhanced Security Measures and Monitoring

To ensure the seamless conduct of the NEET PG 2024, NBEMS implemented rigorous security measures. A central command center was established at the NBEMS office in Dwarka, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and NBEMS teams closely monitoring the examination process. More than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 flying squad members were deployed across the examination centers to oversee the conduct of the exam.

Additionally, eight regional command centers were set up to supervise the examination, and NBEMS took proactive measures to monitor social media to ensure that accurate information was disseminated to all stakeholders.

Normalisation Procedure for Result Preparation

NBEMS also issued a notice detailing the normalization procedure for preparing the examination results. Each shift's results will be calculated based on raw scores and percentages, with percentiles (up to seven decimal places) being used for the total score. In cases of ties, the resolution will follow the scheme outlined in the examination prospectus, with the candidate older by age being ranked higher in tie situations if not specified otherwise in the prospectus.

The robust security arrangements and careful coordination among various agencies ensured that the NEET PG 2024 was conducted smoothly, maintaining the integrity and sanctity of this high-stakes examination.
