Photo-merge attempt using Adobe Photoshop
Today In our Imaging class, we attempted doing a photo-merge to produce a large panoramic image. We did this by first researching the method in class, then went around the college grounds trying multiple locations that might work in a photo-merge.
I put my camera on manual settings, with a manual focus. This was so that the exposure and focal length stayed consistent throughout the merge.
Once I got back to the classroom, I loaded my files into Photoshop and went to File>Automate>Photomerge ; then I selected the images for one location by hand (as I had multiple images from different locations).
From reviewing my images after they were processed, I would ensure that I manually set the White Balance so that there it is consistent throughout my entire photoshoot. I came to this conclusion because you can see at the bottom centre of the frame, the image has segments that appear blue.
Glasgow Photography Exhibition, The Pupil Sphere
Shown above an the image from the Pupil Sphere exhibition that I chose as my favourite. The exhibition was hosted in the CASS ART store in Glasgow.
The purpose of The Pupil Sphere is to exhibit photography students work, helping up and coming photographers get recognition and have their work on display.
Out of the images on display, I chose this one because of its simplistic composition, combined with an interesting subject matter.
21st Century Appearance, Using digital manipulation
(Sorry in advance to @kylejollyphotography)
Above is a piece of work that I created in my imaging class using Adobe Photoshop. the task was to get some practice using the more advanced tools available in Photoshop by producing a Christmas themed caricature of one of our classmates.
Evaluation-
I know that I still have a lot to learn about when it comes to Adobe Photoshop, but my level of understanding has increased since I started my NC course. Going through the tools that I was going to be using with my class before we were asked to create a manipulated image was a great way to learn. Looking now at my final image, I am happy with what I produced, and am confident that I would be able to recreate a similar image.

This weeks plan for the enterprise group- By the time the week is over, we will have been into Glasgow City Centre and gotten items off of store to use in our raffle. We will also have the design of our poster sorted, with the products that we are raffling included in it. To collect items from the shops in Glasgow, we will split into pairs to allow us to cover more ground.
In Imaging class we were given worksheets with checklists on them. We were asked to pair up and choose a software: either Lightroom or Adobe Bridge. Me and Kyle paired up and chose Lightroom as our software.
Import options - Download
The software allows the user to import directly from camera and memory card. It is easy to select files to import and rename files on the import. Also choosing where to save the images is simple. The user is also able to save copies to another folder or hard drive and add metadata.
Edit options - Edit
The software allows the user to quickly review, select, and delete imported photos. Rating and filtering images is easily done. The metadata of the photograph can be viewed also. The one problem me and my partner found was that you could not rename multiple files. This was slightly inconvenient as we had to rename each file separately. We then discovered that you can add metadata and keywords to multiple files which made up for the previous flaw. The user can also filter images using the file metadata.
Optimise options - Optimise
The software allows the user to crop photos using aspect ratios which came in extremely useful. Adjusting tonal controls and colour controls was super easy! The user can view the histogram of the photographs too. Sharpening images and reducing noise were easy and useful too. Retouching images was a little more difficult to figure out but we got there in the end. The user can also successfully add filters or presets and can batch optimise too.
Export options - Export
The user can also export multiple files easily and change the file types. Resizing images at the export stage was simple. Surprisingly, the user cannot embed colour profile at export stage. Luckily though, the user can successfully export files directly to a website or social media account.
