This week we worked on portraits!

We learned to use a 55mm lens and a 250 mm lens along with our widest and shortest apertures to see the difference between both images and then our portraits!

We used a tripod for each image along with a timer so not to be touching the camera in order to snap a photo. Keeping the timer on helped to keep the images undisturbed by vibrations of us pressing the shutter button.

Aside from the last photograph, both images were taken with a 250mm lens, the last was just an image a classmate took and I really liked it!

We used two different lenses to learn about depth of field, but also to see the differences in using a lens from both up close AND at a distance. I learned that with the 250mm lens the image did turn out sharper and had less grain involved.

Photographer Research - Ofer Dabush

An Israel based Photographer who I found through Instagram a while ago, he has a very interesting style to shooting. Very minimalist approach containing a lot of nudity. I love the lines he uses and the colour combinations. Very sexual but relaxing as well. 

I like his approach of just posting images, no caption, no information, no fuss. The images just speak for themselves. Something I could learn a lesson or two from. I don’t have much information about him but I just know he’s a talented guy who will definitely makes his mark within the photographic world

NQ - Behind the Scenes

Our group completed our enterprise activity on the 8th of May, we met at college to get our kit and then made our way to the train station for our train to uddingston. Our first destination was the restaurant were we took images of the outside of the restaurant, the restaurant itself and the food they are serving. 

We then got our products for our next client from the day to day shop and brought them back to the studio at college to take images of the products.
