On this #selfieSaturday, I’m wearing the Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Foundation in the shade 61NN. On the @Sephora website, this shade is described as a “medium-dark neutral with a neutral undertone.” It’s a perfect description for my skin, because my undertone is seriously neutral. It’s not as easy to find a foundation match because I often come across undertones that are too yellow or orange. This is the sample from Sephora. I bought the full size during the Sephora sale a month ago, but I’m scared to open it because I want to make sure that it’s the right match. I’m so tired of the waste in the beauty industry, so I have made a decision that when possible, I will never again return a product that has been opened. When you return open products, they go straight to the trash and contribute to pollution. Also, returns cut into the retailer’s profit margins, which eventually leads to higher prices for all of us. Again, this rule is WHEN POSSIBLE, so this may not be feasible in places such as @ultabeauty where they don’t offer samples. But I will try. This photo has absolutely no filters or photo editing. Not even the lighting settings have been changed. I’m also not wearing any other makeup, since I took this photo to test the shade of this foundation against my chest. I bought two shades of this foundation — 61NN, which I am wearing in this photo and 70NN, which is a deeper shade. 70NN is described as a “dark neutral with a neutral undertone.” I have tried 70NN, which can also work for me, so I’m still unsure. ___ Where the mirror meets the soul. (Swipe left for swatches!) I am always on the hunt for a good drugstore bronzer. There is a serious lack of options for anyone with skin deeper than MAC NC35. Earlier this summer, @lorealmakeup released their Summer Belle Collection. Designed to emulate a sun-lit look from the French Riviera, the collection contained bronzers, lip glosses, blushes, and body luminizers. I purchased the Bronze Please bronzer in the darkest shade, 04 Taormina, Dark. It’s a beautiful color with a slight shimmer and has a very light coconut scent. Luckily, it’s deep enough to bronze me, but I am quite disappointed that this shade won’t work for anyone deeper than MAC NC50. Brands really need to work on this.
