This game starts out like no others did: with no action happening in the first quarter. After 1 full quarter of play, the score is tied at 0, and the Dude OMG! Podcasters have 2 punts and only a handful of first downs. There were no noteworthy plays by either team on either side of the ball.
In the 2nd quarter, the Podcasters drew first blood with a 2-yard TD by DudeOMG Will, but Blake Bortles answered back on the first play after the ensuing kickoff to throw a 77-yard bomb to tie the game back up. We drive back down the field for another 3-yard TD run by DudeOMG Will. A couple minutes later, Sam Waterston is walking in a 9-yard TD pass from DudeOMG Cord. The defense shuts down the Knights to end the 2nd quarter.
The third quarter starts off with an INT by Amanda Amanda, setting up what will be an 18-yard TD reception by Amanda Gilbreath. The Knights drove down the field but couldn’t punch it in, instead settling for a field goal. With 53 seconds remaining on the clock, Cord runs in an uncontested touchdown. Coach pulls all the starters and puts in the 2nd team offense and defense. Bortles threw another INT to CB #17 and on the very next play, QB Matt Cinco-Tres runs it in for a 35-yard touchdown! Third quarter ends 42-10 in favor of the good guys.
A minute and a half into the fourth quarter, Blake Bortles throws another long TD reception, this time a 61-yard reception to Jeff Godfrey. The Knights follow up this score with an onside kick and the recovery! Comeback? Ha. No. Bortles gets sacked twice in a row on this drive resulting in another punt. An attempt to run out the clock was felled by start RB C Kaye who ran up the gut for a 65-yard touchdown! J Jangelo8010 picks off Bortles (who has now thrown 3 INTs in the game), which seals up this contest. Cinco-Tres kneels twice and runs out the clock. DudeOMG Podcasters win 49-17!
So what did we learn? Looking at the stats, below, it’s undeniable you can’t run on our team, but you can pass on them. However, if you pass, make sure you’re confident in your throws because we have people who can take it back to the house! DudeOMG Podcasters are 4-0 on the season. The win over UCF put us into the Top 25 as we’re now sitting #23 in the Nation in the Coaches Poll. We are home to play Derek Carr and the Fresno State Bulldogs next week. See you next week!
