Beyond Blessed

These past few days have been totally amazing and I just need to say this out loud without anyone thinking that I was bragging or people whom I know judge me for what has happened.

Words cannot fully describe the joy and euphoria I am currently high with right now because I myself fail to comprehend what I am feeling as of the moment. All I know is that I am beyond blessed and thankful that I had the chance to be part of the Nurses Christian Fellowship International Congress 2016 held at Tagaytay City, Philippines.

It has been a game changer for me. It renewed my soul and my motivation for my course which is obviously Nursing. Somehow the knowledge and learnings I have made me realize that I am not simply there for any petty reason but because I was called, I was chosen to be where I am right now. 

The whole experience makes me feel excited to go back to school and start my third year as a Nursing student. So to all nurses and student nurses out there, be part of an NCF chapter in your locality. It is a decision you will never ever regret.

Giving back + Youth Development

O8|1O|2O15 I am the type of person that likes to give back even though i dont have much to give. I like to look for ways that i can give my knowledge to others, even though i am not the most wise person in the room. This being said, last year i applied for a job as a “Peer Leader” for the Montclair State University Educational Opportunity Fund Program.  A program that helped my transition from high school to college a easy path with great support. This program changed my life so much that i wanted to be part of a life changing summer academy for the new incoming freshman class. Youth Development is very important to me, me being part of the “Youth” group itself its why i care about so much. I dont like to hear people talking about the “youth of today” as something bad, i would actually appreciate people talking about how good we are and how talented we are and how we are changing our own communities by being different and embracing each other. BUT, realistically speaking not a lot of us care about higher education and impacting other peoples lives. But a change has to start some how, thats why i decided to devote 6 weeks of my summer to this program that gave students from unprivileged areas the opportunity to a college career. The purpose of this program is amazing and dear to my heart, because i myself am a part of it. 

Today i also started this other program called The Newark College Freshman Institute. Another great program that i was apart of my freshman year of college and that now i get to come back in a Mentor position to give my advise and to share my experience with incoming college freshman.
