This was such a gift. Gibbs and Ducky’s origin story was iconic, and the impact that they’ve had on each other’s lives was so exciting to discover. It was so nostalgic to see (Mike Franks, Dr. Magnus) and hear (Ducky’s mother, Shannon) throwback characters mentioned, and the references to previous seasons were on point. I especially liked the ‘Gibbs with two bs’- it was such a cool callback to The Curse (”why do you need two bs” “second one’s for’ bastard’”), and Tony and Kate. I also loved the ‘driving on the wrong side of the road' shtick- it was a reference to one of Ducky’s many stories and also the one where Gibbs and Fornell were held in separate British prisons.
There was so much satisfaction when, after 40 years, Gibbs and Ducky finally got their guy, and the way they turned and smiled at each other was too cute. The current characters supported the storyline really well, and the character development was a great addition. I loved the new information about McGee, and Gibbs joining the team for drinks was a really great way to round off the milestone. We made it to 400, guys!!!!
