I feel like things are starting to make sense now I’m re-watching.
This man aches when he sees Ziva in pain…this has to be part of the reason he cannot bring himself to tell her how she hurts him. He’s so worried about her pain that he is just absorbing it all.
Whereas Ziva is looking at communication as a way to heal, Tony is still seeing it as the direct point of pain
A moment of calm in the storm, and he is the one, the only one who can provide it to her, who can reassure her and make her feel safe in an embrace, in a tender caress
I'm rewatching ncis (seasons 1-11) in preparation for ncis: Tony & Ziva airing THIS WEEK. So, join me as I live-blog some of my favorite ncis episodes!
Confession: THIS is the episode I usually start my binge watches at - 80% of the time. Seasons 7-10 are my absolute favorite seasons of NCIS, with second place being 1-3. Obviously I don't watch 4-6 quite often, except for some episodes here and there.
7x01 feels like one of those episodes a series would air right after the Super Bowl, y'know? It's got full-on character introductions like you haven't seen them in years and you've forgotten who everyone is; it's flashbacks galore; great tony/mcgee scenes; great Tony lines; adventure, heroism, a great bad guy; and, lastly, Tiva.
So many AMAZING things about this episode, and I can't wait to rewatch it and tell you all my thoughts :D

Seeing Tony in the chair that Ziva was at the end of last episode gets me EVERY TIME
Also, it's nice having just fully watched the Rivkin arc and having the context of the extent that Ziva feels betrayed - that really helps put things in perspective

Tony (about Gibbs)- "coffee aficionado and functional mute"
Oof, when Saleem mentions 4th member of their team, I forgot Tony automatically refers to Kate, "whose spot is filled by liaison Ziva David"
Saleem- "Is your team here to finish the job?!"
Tony- "Not only are you wrong, but you're wrong at the top of your voice"
Because he's here to rescue Zivaaaaaaa
Tony- "I don't care about your team. I don't care about my team."
Saleem- "... So what are you doing here?"
Tony- "Well, Saleem, there's only one force on Earth that can short-circuit a man's better instincts, put fire in his veins, and makes him dive headlong into danger with no regard for his own well-being."

Tony's dialogue is absolutely amazing in this episode. Whoever wrote his lines did so good. Alsooo Michael Weatherly did so good in delivering them ofc ofc

It's so sad seeing them go back to normal after Ziva no longer being there

It's been a while since we've seen Gibbs conversate with the team naturally, y'know? Later-Gibbs would just keep his head down or ask a case-related question instead of adding to that conversation
Also. To answer McGee's earlier question, yes, I guess this is another meth overdose ?

Tony- "Ziva's not replacable"
Saleem- "The one you lost... Then why aren't you looking for her?"
Tony- "If I could drag her back, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But that's impossible. Ziva David is dead."

Tony is so distracted while he and McGee are out at dinner. He's getting so worried about Ziva :(
He gets up and starts walking down the road, not paying attention to McGee. I love it when McGee quickly puts cash on the table before following him, because he's responsible haha
I'm so glad someone is finally mentioning that the silence from Ziva isn't normal.
Tony- "I'm gonna start digging"
McGee- "You can't do it alone"
Tony- "You gonna stop me?"
McGee- "That's not what I said."

I mean, I know Eli told Ziva she needs to take his place and continue the mission. So I guess this isn't a surprise. But still.

Ok ok we have some sort of NCIS team in Dubai tracking Mossad. Maybe that was who Gibbs was talking to in MTAC? The Chad guy?
Abby- "And no one's telling us anything. So we have two options"
McGee- "And they're both illegal. Hack into Mossad..."
Abby- "or hack into Vance"
New chick- "oh that's it. I'm outta here. I'm done."
When this new new chick comes in interrupting Tony on the phone and he hides it, then gets flustered and asks "who are you?" it's reminded me sooo much of 3x01 when Ziva and Tony met for the first time ;_;
Maybe it's because she has Ziva's haircut? is that why he's flustered?
The way we find out this drug victim is ALSO the murderer is so great tbh. Tony's behind the glass with the new new chick, trying to convince her to not work at NCIS because reasons, then mirrors Gibbs word for word when Gibbs is interrogating the victim. Tony basically narrates this C plot for us. Gibbs accuses the victim of being the murderer at the same exact time Tony narrates this to new new chick. It's so great.
I love the little things like this throughout NCIS!
And the look Tony and Gibbs share when they exit the rooms. Tony's eyes scream that they need Ziva back.
Okkk yes Saleem is the main bad guy who's leading the terrorist training camp in north africa. confirmed, gotcha

This compilation of Tony being zoned out with everything going on around him reminds me of 3x02 when Gibbs was told that the hunt for Ari should be called off because they found another suspect.

I love that Tony, McGee, and Abby are all presenting this Saleem case to Vance TOGETHER in MTAC - it's pretty great :')
Sooo. Tony reveals to Saleem that they tracked him down via his caf-pow deliveries, he gets angry, throws his caf-pow at the wall, storms out and grabs Ziva (who Tony believes to be dead), because....?
I mean. yes. It's great that we as viewers have confirmation that she's alive. But what benefit was that to him?
Ohhhh, as leverage. To get info, because at least either Tony or Ziva must have info about these locations Saleem is asking for, and person who does not, dies. cool cool cool.

Vance is telling Tony he doesn't have a strong enough case?! Boooooo
Ooooh. Gibbs suggests to Tony on the sideline that maybe they send a couple agents to the region. To gather intel. Y'know. What Vance said they didn't have. Intel and evidence.
Tony- "I volunteer myself and Special Agent McGee for the secret fact-finding mission thingy, that's not a secret, in the Sahara. What are you going to do?"
Gibbs- "You don't wanna know"
Tony- "Good talk"
Tony sounds so upbeat, awee
Is Tony giving Ziva a fake plan? Because none of this happens what he's telling her. And yes, he's on this truth serum
Tony- "Ziva. Can you fight?"
You can see a tear rolling down her face
Sooo Tony distracts Saleem, McGee kicks him out from under himself and grabs his knife, then Saleem pulls the gun on McGee. For someone who said he doesn't mind the war of killing, why does he pause before shooting when Tony tells him to stop?
I mean, I'm totally 101% happy he didn't shoot, but...
"Remember when I told you my boss was a sniper"

Watching NCIS season 10 episode 6 Shell Shock Part 1 and the moment between Ziva and Tony as Tony showed Ziva the picture of his mom and how it was mom that took him to the movies. How she studied and watched his face as he told her about the movie theater and the last movie he saw with his mom. Made me love Tiva all the more.
I was watching NCIS while playing Digimon bc I like to party and I was watching Kill Ari 1 +2 and the saddest thing in the world is that the some of the only lines Ziva has to Ari are "I want to see you" and "Please don't leave me too" and then the first time she sees him--I think I might have been fighting the six arms guy who just kept getting more arms so my attention was bifurcated--she has to kill him like fuck off
I always wonder if Ari was playing her as well--I dont think so i feel like he was intent on flipping her on their dad
I do not know what they put into Kate Todd from NCIS to make me so attached but it’s getting ridiculous.
I have watched her death years ago, could not bring myself to watch the rest of the show for years! And when I saw a tiktok related to her I ended up bawling my eyes out;
Now I am finally able to watch the show again (nearing the end of season 6) so I thought that I am good, whatever hold Kate's character had over me is surely gone, right? WRONG I have spent the last 10minutes sobbing over a tiktok of her death ??? Will I ever be able to move on? at this point I don't know.
The most bizarre thing about this whole situation is that I have no idea why I got so attached, she’s not really all that much relatable to me? There are other characters form different shows that I relate to more and I’ve never had a similar experience
