i like your idea of slow burn and Stockholm
just curious how your going to approach it ?
Uhh just like, stretching it out. Letting it simmer instead of jumping straight into smut right off the bat, and not having Reader immediately fall head-over-heels for him. I find it more realistic to take the time to build up to that. What I think a lot of people forget is, with the origin of Stockholm syndrome, it was in a hostage situation, and the guy wasn’t some child serial killer. From my understanding of the events, the hostages were treated well overall. So, it’s trickier to accomplish in a situation where the villain is a lot more morally corrupt, and I think a lot of people who write “Stockholm syndrome” with Al seem to not take that into consideration, and force the romance too soon. So I want to really build up to it and try to make the descent into darkness, so to speak, more real.
Must be my first post-Nervebreakers outfit, The Jungle Heirs at a Street Dance. Me doing my best Bryan Ferry that a punkabilly boy could do. There's Charles Daniel on bass & NCM's David Hill leaning on the doorpost at Curtis Hawkins' record store, Stacks 'O Tracks on lower Greenville Avenue in Big D around 1981. Heading right from David is Curtis' sister, Jolinda, then the late Pope Coleman, one of my many friends who passed away during the pandemic years from cardiac issues. Next to Pope is Erin Arthur AKA Superman's Girlfriend. That's Curtis' ex, Marsha, crouching down shooting a photo of us. He thinks Dena shot this particular photo. The band members not shown were Danny Whittington on guitar & Carl Giesecke, also from The Nervebreakers, on drums.
