“Yeah, uh, that’s pretty bad....maybe you could....no....”
“I told you! I told you last year! I came out of the closet and everything!” She paused in her furious whispering. “Actually, maybe I didn’t. At least, maybe not to you.” She spaced out slightly, looking through her memories. "I could have sworn..."
The sun couldn’t have been any louder in demanding Emily come outside to enjoy it. She couldn’t resist. Even sitting to eat breakfast inside felt like too much, there was an uncomfortable feeling in her chest that she knew only direct and immediate contact with the outside would alleviate. Broom over shoulder, she entered the Great Hall, taking only two muffins with her on her way back out. Taking a deep breath of fresh air as she passed through the front doors, the warmth of the sun’s rays warmed every corner of her soul. Just as she suspected: a perfect day for flying.
She grinned inadvertently as she took off into the air, soaring above the empty stands surrounding the pitch. In between the weather and her, she’d been kept from practicing on her own for the last week or so. She craved the air all to herself every once and a while; it instantly cleared her mind and slowed time. Nearly half an hour passed when she noticed a figure walking onto the pitch below. Though she couldn’t tell who it was, she waved, encouraging them to join her in the air as she lowered towards them.
"Alright, let’s get this over with. I have a massive fucking headache and I’d rather not spend my entire day here.”
“Well I’d hate to say I told you so but...” Rose crossed her arms over her chest and gave them a smug look. “I told you so,” she spoke in a sing song voice.
“Hahaha! That’s hilarious, tell me everything.”
“So, how was the Welcome Back party last night?”
“Yeah, I never really did get a chance to make it out. But, in retrospect, It was better that I didn’t go.”
“What? Please, I’m not drunk,” Scorpius slurred before pausing, “Okay maybe I am drunk. Just not drunk enough for my liking yet.”
