     The first time it happens he puts it off as an accident. A harmless thing that happens every now and then. Something he can shove to the back of his mind and forget about.

     Just like he does the second time.

     And the third time.

     And the fourth.

     However, he can’t keep ignoring it when his husband uses increasing force every time he brings down the piece of metal to his artificial skin. Nevermind the fact that Chester can actually feel the contact, can feel the force that is used in an attempt to break his skin, break the casing.

     He doesn’t understand.

     The last time it happens he can’t ignore it any longer. It’s not like he has much of a choice, honestly. He’s distracted, feeding the cats while dinner is slowly cooking away and he returns to cut vegetables.

     However, his attention soon shifts when there’s sharp pain and error messages flooding his vision. He doesn’t know if Gavin is still holding onto the fork as his preferred choice of weapon or if he’s moved on to something more efficient.

     Honestly, he doesn’t really care. After all this is his husband, the one person he thought he could trust. They swore to protect eachother, to care for eachother and to love eachother until death will part them. Well, apparently a lifelong promise was too long for Gavin, speeding up the process.

     He doesn’t have it in himself to fight back.

     They’re lying sprawled across their sofa. French Fry somehow snuggled into the pile as well while Bitch Boss 1st and Titty are off to do their thing in another part of their shared apartment. Warm light is falling into the room as the sun sets and they rest from a hard day at work.

     Gavin’s voice brings a small smile to his face that only broadens as the words settle on his mind. His hand mindlessly pats the cat somehow stuck between them as he gives his husband a look that says more than a thousand words. However, he knows Gavin isn’t exactly the best at reading his expressions so he spells it out for him anyway.

     “Well, I’d hope so, considering we’ve been married for almost a year.”
