I spent my life folded between the pages of books. In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.

So if you haven’t heard about this yet, The Novelist Club is hosting a Secret Santa event thing and we need more people. If you are interested in being/having a secret santa this year, please, please, please sign up :) The gift/s you make/receive can vary from edits and videos to fanfics and fanmixes.

The Novelist Club has decided to host its first official Secret Santa! Now for those of you who don’t know what it means to be a secret santa, it’s basically a person who exchanges gifts with someone else. Now on tumblr, it works a little bit differently. You you receive the url of the person you are the secret santa of. Throughout the month of December you send anonymous messages to this person. You can tell them whatever you wish as long as you keep it kind. The whole point is to get to know this person and find out what they like. You can also talk to them about yourself. It's meant to work both ways. You’re not supposed to tell them your name though, in the off chances they figure out who you are before the exchange date. For the person of the url you receive you make them a gift of your choice and post it for them by Christmas.

Now the Novelist Club Secret Santa’s main focus is about books. I’m sure it’s obvious enough, but in case of any confusion I want to be clear about what our Secret Santa Exchange is based on. Your gift should revolve around these details. Graphics, gifsets, fanfiction, fanmixes, etc. are all considered acceptable gifts. You will have two weeks to sign up and fill out the application. We will pair you up at the start of next month and you can begin doing your secret santa things. Here are the rules and this is the application you need to fill out. Before starting on your application you need to send us an ask saying you would like to take part. Both the ask and the application must be done or you will not get a url.

You have until midnight (EST), November 30th, to sign up. Please do not sign up if you will not be an active Secret Santa and can not give a gift to your person. It’s not fair to the others so please be considerate. It also will make it more difficult for us to replace you. If you do miss the deadline you may send an ask saying that if someone backs out, or is not doing their job, you will fill in for them. If you have any questions at all our askbox is always open.
