“Deny” for Freshman Admission- Fall 2015
If your wolfPAW account states that you have been “Denied,” this means you will not be able to enroll at NC State University for the Fall of 2015, nor can you apply for a different major at this time. HOWEVER, this does not mean that you will never be able to attend, just that you have the opportunity now to take college level coursework elsewhere and work towards transferring to NC State. The transfer requirements can be found here.
Please note that different factors are considered in the transfer process than the freshmen admissions process. You will need at least 30 transferable college credits. These can be obtained through any regionally accredited Community College or other College/University. After completing this work, you will need to submit a new application through your wolfPAW account.
We hope this information is useful and will help you plan the remainder of your senior year of high school and beyond. Remember to check your wolfPAW account before trying to contact us, as everything you will need to know is listed there. Additional information can also be found on ouradmissions website. We wish you the best of luck in the coming weeks and hope that you will continue all of the hard work.

“Waitlist” for Freshman Admission- Fall 2015
If your wolfPAW account states that you are on the “Waiting List,” it means that we would like to admit you but we are unable to do so because we do not have space available. The freshman class is full, so requesting a change of major would not result in an earlier final admission decision.
Typically less than 10% overall end up being admitted from the waiting list. Last year we had approximately 2,300 freshmen applicants on the waiting list and were able to accept around 10 (>1%) of those students.
The waiting list is not numbered and we will reconsider everyone on the waiting list to fill any potential spaces in the class based on applicant responses to our acceptance offers. We will begin accepting applicants from the waiting list, if needed, in late May and you will hear from us no later than June 15.
Due to the fact that such a small amount of students are accepted from the waiting list, we suggest you consider other academic opportunities at this time and encourage you to consider transfer admission after a successful year elsewhere.
To learn more about what it means to be on the waiting list, visit admissions.ncsu.edu/waitlist

"PENDING" OR "DENY" FOR FRESHMAN ADMISSION- FALL 2015
Pending
If your wolfPAW account states that you have been “Deferred” this means that you may benefit from the opportunity to provide improved fall grades and test scores before a decision is made during Final Review in March. You will receive an email in February to enter your fall grades through your wolfPAW account. Please DO NOT send us an updated transcript. If you have additional SAT or ACT scores, contact the testing agency to request that they be sent to us electronically. You can view which scores have been received by our office on your wolfPAW application status screen. During Final Review we will focus on your academics therefore we do not offer interviews and letters of recommendation are not required or recommended. To learn more about what you can do if your application is deferred visit admissions.ncsu.edu/defer.
