魔術 ------ A world weary sigh left her lips as she saw the man approach her, the exhalation easily forgiven as a sign of exasperation. Though there was indeed a level of it laced in that single action, there was also something else that followed quickly after it --preparation. Each interaction the mage had with the male had been calculated right down to how she looked at him, the tone of her voice and indeed even her body language.

Anyone would see the distance that she was intentionally putting between them in these actions, and her distance wasn’t derived completely from a place of dislike for the man, not completely, but the dislike was indeed there. No, it also came from a place of mourning and perhaps even a sprinkling of anger.

A perfectly executed greeting. Addressing him with the respect Yuna would wish for everyone to give him, after all, Jecht had been her father’s guardian. Also a level of interest with just a hint of a question leaving the door open for him to pursue a conversation with her should he so choose to do so.

To a certain degree, she’d been playing a game with the man. Oh, not one of malice, no, but there was indeed a level of manipulation on her part. If she played the part of a woman who held him in some level of esteem and showed just enough interest in his daily comings and goings, maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t press her as to why she was distant, why she kept him above everyone else at arms length.

But perhaps Jecht was much smarter than she had given him credit for?
