NCT Mark and Renjun how they became your best friend
Mark Lee and you have been friends since grade school in Canada
At first you weren’t friends, actually Mark didn’t want to be your friend
In fourth grade a rumor went around that you couldn’t ride a bike
His friends would make fun of you, and it really hurt your feelings
He saw you one day walking home with your bike that you couldn’t ride and decided to change that
He taught you how to ride your bike after several days. After that you both sort of just clicked
As you both got older your parents also liked each other and hanged out frequently
Marks old friends eventually got jealous that he was spending so much time with me and not them
They spread a rumor about him sophomore year that Mark was gay
You heard the rumor before Mark did, you were ready to punch a hole in their face
You would keep him away from the rumor and those people for as long as you could
One day you were talking to him at your lockers when you overheard a big group of people talking about Mark
Your blood boiled and you leaned into Mark whispering into his ear before standing on your tippy toes
“Just go with it I promise”
You kissed him very stiffly before he wrapped his arms around your waist
You then craddled his face and relaxed with the kiss
You could hear people gathering and chattering excitedly
You felt Mark smile through the kiss and caused you to start laughing
He grabbed your hand and pulled you away from all the people out to the football field
You sat on the bleachers and he just stared at you laughing
“What’s so funny? I didn’t say anything”
Trying to avoid the situation
“I knew about the rumor y/n”
You were shocked and perplexed that your dodging skills had failed
“Oh, so did they not bother you?”
“They only bother you if they’re true”
You both laughed at each other for a while
“Y/n was that your first kiss”
“Because that’s what best friends do”
“Best friend? I like that”
Renjun was the quiet type
You both went to school together, same homeroom every year
You both see each other in and out of school almost 24/7
You had no idea why you saw him so much
It was because you were neighbors and your Moms ran a book club every week together
your parents were already aquatinted
At a book club meeting your mom had picked one of your favorite books to read and review
Therefore you wouldn’t miss this meeting
When you showed up at the house next door you saw a familiar boy from your high school
He was with a woman helping arrange snacks on a plate
Your mom went to greet Renjuns mom and shooed Renjun away
He was heading to his room until he saw you
He sort of admired you from afar before walking over to you
“I would ask you the same thing since you walked into my house”
“Wait is your mom, y/m/n?”
“Yeah our parents run a book club together”
“How come I’ve never seen you at other meetings”
“Well y/n this is my favorite book”
Renjun held up your favorite book and you gawked at it
He smiled as you both looked over st your happy moms
“You like this book too?”
Renjun wasn’t as quiet as he seems at school
You both talked about the book constantly until you both got kicked out for almost spoiling the entire book
He took you to his room that was painted a nice royal blue
“How come you never told me we were neighbors”
“Your pupular y/n, I’m just THERE”
“So, I think your cool, plus who cares?”
“Well I don’t care, it think your great!”
Over the next year you went to your junior year in high school and remained friends
It was football homecoming and the results for homecoming representatives were in for the girls
For your the reveal there was a huge assembly in the gym.
You got pulled aside by your principal
“You got nominated for homecoming court y/n”
You were really shocked because you told everyone not to vote for you..
But of course Renjun begs to differ
When they called everyone to silence to reveal each 2 class reps for homecoming you could already sense Renjuns excitement
When they got to the junior class you and the other girl held hands to be presented
Everyone went crazy and Renjun was the center of the hype fest
They let us thank the crowd and I specially thanked Renjun
“WOOOOOOOO THATS MY BEST FRIEND!”
He yelled from the bleachers when I thanked him.
Everyone clapped again for us
After the assembly you went to find Renjun
He was waiting for you with a flower of your favorite kind
“I’m your best friend now huh?” He just smiled at you.
