                      LIGHT   WASN ‘  T   SURE   WHAT   TO   THINK   OF   THE   ROOM   .      the   room   with   the   red   walls   ,      he ‘  d   been   there   before   ,      so   many   times   .      he   waited   in   the   doorway   for   the   other ‘  s   summons   .

                       the   voice   was   thick   like   velvet   and   it   sent   chills   down   his   spine   .      power   ;;      the   man   within   reeked   of   it   .

                       as   always   ,      the   other   man   was   waiting   for   him   .      light   approached   ,      a   little   nervous   .      there   were   always   doubts   in   the   dark   where   they   couldn ‘  t   be   seen   .      he   took   a   breath   ,      slow   and   deep   ,      he   had   to   relax   .      lids   shuttered   tawny   eyes   .      he   wasn ‘  t   afraid   .      at   least   ,      that ‘  s   what   he   told   himself   .

                        then   there   was   laughter   ,      starting   soft   and   growing   louder   ,      the   man   before   him   turned   around   &.   light ‘  s   eyes   flicked   open   to   meet   their   red   twins   .      there   was   no   mirror   in   this   room   ,      and   yet   he   saw   his   own   reflection   .      “      kira   ,      ”            he   whispered   ,      tone   colored   with   both   hatred   and   reverence   .      

                                     “      light   ,      ”             the   reflection   replied   with   a   teasing   cadence   &.   a   confident   smirk   .      his   fingers   darted   out   to   grab   light ‘  s   chin   ,      to   tilt   it   up   .      light ‘  s   eyes   fluttered   shut   and   he   felt   lips  on   his   neck   .      he   might   have   thought   it   strange   ,       but   not   here   .      a   gasp   left   his   lips   –      teeth   pinched   his   skin   &.   it   hurt   ,      but   not   unpleasantly   so   .      he    wanted   this   .      a   hand   caressed   his   cheek   and   soft   lips   brushed   his   own   .

                       “      i   want   you   ,      ”            he   whispered   .     

                                     “     i   am   you   ,      ”            was   the   only   reply   before   the   room   and   his   reflection   slipped   away   into   the   darkness   .

             either   way   ,      [   yagami   light   ]      was   an   ideal   target   -      if   nothing   else   his   father   was   surely  working   with   L   -      perhaps   A   should   make   themself   known   ?      

             a   name   would   do   the   trick   .      ARAI   AYAME   .      A. A.   -      that   would   get   his   attention   .       ayame   -      a   high   school   student   -      horrifically   beaten   &.   robbed   on   the   street   -      her   parents   dead   .      {   alice   }   looked   to   the   bodies   at   ‘   her   ’   feet   -      criminals   ,      though   they   would   not   be   found   in   any   database   .      none   but   WONDERLAND   .

             but   she   was   ayame   now   .      her   breathing   q u i c k e n e d   ,      tears   cascaded   from   scared   brown   eyes   ,      mixing   with   blood   as   it   dripped   down   her   face   .      she   ran   to   the   house   ,      banged   on   the   door   til   her   fists   bled   ,      til   her   body   ached   .     “      HELP   ME   PLEASE   ,      PLEASE   !     CALL   THE   POLICE   ,      ”           she   begged   ,      voice   frantic   ,      manic   ,      a   scared   little   rabbit   she   was   .      even   at   this   late   hour   ,      lights   around   the   street   flicked   on   .      “      THEY   KILLED   THEM   ,      MY   PARENTS   !      HELP   ME   PLEASE   !      ”

sayu is extremely expressive. she talks with her hands and uses a lot of gestures to complement what she says. her posture changes rather drastically with her emotions and she doesn’t generally bother to contain herself. stoicism is light’s game, not hers. 

her hands are the most expressive for sure. but her face is a close second. sayu wears her heart on her sleeve and her thoughts on her face. up until the kidnapping, she’s a horrible liar and nearly incapable of hiding what she’s feeling. nor does she really try to. sayu has nothing to hide from anyone. in fact, she prides herself on her honesty and optimism. 

afterwards, however, she tries to learn how to hide her sadness for the benefit of her mother. her expressiveness at this point is a hollow mimicry of how she used to be. her motions are off-beat with her voice and it takes her a moment to decide which mask to plaster onto her face.
