Whoever this person was, Witch didn’t get a good feeling from them. He was pretty good at reading people, able to get feelings and vibes simply from being around someone. Perhaps it was his magic, or perhaps over the years he’d just grown good at it. He barely raised a brow towards the other, expression cold and unwelcoming. ‘ And what do you want ?’

LIGHT WAS GROWING SICK of ryuk not telling him things . he needed to know everything about the death note . everything . “ i found this book . . . ” he said casually . light hadn ‘ t been sure whether or not he should tell the witch about the death note , but in the end , he needed to know .

pulling the book out of his bag , he showed it to the other .

SHE CLINGS ONTO HIS WORDS, like a subservient puppet ; her ears trailing hopelessly at his demands —— she finds herself at a momentary loss at his change of pace. fatigue wrist immediately abiding to his wish, she can feel her worn out muscles pulsing in response. the weight of her pen now grows light, and like a marionette she follows to his whims. ❝ but i can keep going, ❞ she tries to persist, but the allure of heaven’s slumber has grown far too great to resist. eyelids drops midway from her own drowsiness and she yawns loudly with watery tears. ( has she truly pushed herself too hard ? was that why light was worried for her ? ) hopeful allegation be stills her heart and a grateful smile beams on her half daze expression. ❝ it’s cause you are concern for me right ? okay, i understand. ❞

SHE NODS HER HEAD AND RELISHES HIS TOUCH, his warmth enveloping around her as her kind and benevolent god leads her back to their shared quarters. he leaves immediately afterwards, and misa was left to her own devices. changing her clothes to sleepwear, the idol jumps blissfully to the comfort of their bed. her petite body sinks into the mattress, and her arms tangle themselves onto her pillows as her consciousness drifts away into the melancholy of sweet oblivion. she dreams a dreamless sleep, and falls peacefully into the night.

MORNING COMES SOON AFTERWARDS, and her consciousness once again emerges from her slumber. a restful sleep returns her natural complexion, and though her hand was still sore, misa truly felt invigorated. turning to her side, she was almost surprise to see him lay beside her. after all, given the recent weeks, their sleep schedule truly did not coincide with one another. ( he’s been through too much ), and because of that, she understands him more than most. resisting the urge to touch his beautifully symmetric visage, she relishes this rare moment of silence. her gaze now staring at the ceiling, she allows herself to become a glutton and wait patiently for her god’s awakening.

TIRED . he was so tired , even as light felt himself wake , he wished he could rest longer -- forever . it was no simple feat , being god -- not when there were so many loose ends , so many minds working to bring him down .

the original L had been close and ‘ N ’ didn ‘ t trust light as the new L . life was getting harder by the day but he was so so close - they were so close . light didn ‘ t need to open his eyes to know misa was awake beside him .

“ misa . . . coffee ? ” he mumbled , eyes still shut . he ‘ d greet her properly when he was more . . . alive .

‘ WHAT IS THIS GUY ? a shinigami ? no . light could see him and he ‘ d never touched a death note besides his own an misa ‘ s ( as far as he knew , at least ) . “ ah , sorry . . . i space out sometimes , ” he lied awkwardly - the stranger didn ‘ t seem quite stable and light didn ‘ t want to be attacked or something .
